National Phishing Scam: Do Not Give Out Your Debit Card CVV
There is a national phishing scam in progress where a scammer is using spoofed text messaging and telephone calls to appear as though they are your trusted financial institution contacting you to verify a recent purchase on your debit card. Individuals may receive a text message asking them to confirm the validity of a transaction, followed up by a telephone call. The caller may already have some information, including your home address and card number. Their goal is to obtain the 3-digit CVV on the back of your debit card and/or your PIN. If you received a similar call, please report it to us immediately at 888.671.0400 so we can take action to ensure your accounts and information are secure.
Please remember that caller ID information can be faked to make you think that a call is coming from a trusted person or business. Capital City Bank will never call, e-mail or text and ask you to provide sensitive account, card or personal information.
