Bill began his career at Capital City Bank in 1987 as a methods analyst. Nearly three decades ago, Bill implemented the retail investments brokerage service, currently provided by LPL Financial, located in Capital City Bank offices and managed the division for many years before assuming leadership of our more than 60-year-old trust services division in 2012. Bill orchestrated the expansion of wealth services through private banking and the acquisition of a strategic wealth planning group in only the past few years. Under his guidance, Capital City Wealth has solidified its key role within the Capital City Bank Group family and continues to grow to better serve the wealth management needs of clients.
Bill earned a finance degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee and Leadership Florida and serves on the board of the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority. Bill is past chair and current board member for the Economic Club of Florida as well as past chair and executive committee member for the Trust Division of the Florida Bankers Association. Bill is also a member of the finance committee for the St. John's Episcopal Church and serves on the board of the St. John’s Episcopal Church Foundation. He is active on the Power 5 team of United Way of the Big Bend and a member of Capital Tiger Bay Club and the Tallahassee Exchange Club. He is also past chair of the Governor’s Club and the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
Bill received the Julian V. Smith Community Service Award in 1993 from Capital City Bank. He has been recognized as a top institution program manager through the LPL Financial Chairman’s Club and serves on the LPL Ambassador Council. Bill also was honored by the Florida Bankers Association as Trust Banker of the Year in 2023.
